1. Who you are contracting with

These terms govern your use of lagias.com and app.lagias.com, operated by HBW Softwares UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Sigbertstraße 5, 51427 Bergisch Gladbach, Germany. By using the site or creating an account you agree to them.

2. What Lagias is, and what it is not

Lagias turns a plain-language investment idea into a backtested strategy and returns a statistical verdict on how much that result can be trusted, including an estimate of how likely it is to be overfit.

It is a research and education tool for self-directed investors. It is not investment advice, not a personal recommendation, and not a solicitation to buy or sell any financial instrument. We are not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer. We do not manage money, hold assets, or execute trades.

Backtested and hypothetical results describe the past behaviour of a rule on historical data. They are not indicative of future results. Every investment decision you make is yours, and investing carries risk including the loss of your capital.

3. Access during development

Lagias is in development. Access is free, granted at our discretion, and may be changed, interrupted or withdrawn at any time. Joining the waitlist does not entitle you to access. Features described on this site may change or may never ship.

If we introduce paid plans, we will say so before anything becomes chargeable, and separate terms will apply.

4. Your account

You need an account to use the application. You are responsible for keeping access to your email or Google account secure, since both can be used to sign in. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to your account.

You may close your account at any time, and we may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

5. Acceptable use

• Do not use Lagias to break the law, or to offer regulated investment advice to others as if it were your own.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the service, or to circumvent usage limits.
• Do not scrape or resell the output at scale, or present it as an independent evaluation of a strategy you are marketing.

6. Your content and our content

The ideas and briefs you submit remain yours. You grant us the right to process them in order to run the service and to improve it. We do not publish your briefs.

The site, the application, the evaluation methodology and the handbook are ours and remain ours. You may quote the handbook with attribution.

7. Warranty and liability

The service is provided as-is and, during development, without any assurance of availability, correctness or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that a verdict is correct or that a strategy will perform in any way.

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence we are liable only where a material contractual obligation is breached, and then only for foreseeable, typical damage. Liability under the Product Liability Act remains unaffected.

8. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new date; continued use after that constitutes acceptance.

German law applies. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.
